Lexi - Alcoholic (Spain) - July 2012
A month ago, my life was a mess. I had hit rock bottom and my drinking was out of control. I was given the opportunity to get some help at the Phoenix Programmes residential rehab - where I was looked after and treated for my alcoholism.
It is not just a treatment centre, it felt like a home. In fact, a home I was reluctant to leave, the team are all welcoming, kind and always there to help you. No problem was too big or too small, I received nothing but kindness help and support.
Throughout my stay I learnt not just about my illness, but how to cope with it. My faith and my life itself were restored. Without the help I received my life would not be as good as it is now.
During my time here I was educated whilst being relaxed and comfortable. Set in peaceful surroundings I was able to relax around the pool, exercise, watch television and had lovely meals. I can honestly say that rehab saved my life.

This programme – this journey, has not just been about drinking, or stopping drinking even; its about learning what happens when I drink – the damaging impact my drinking and behaviour has on my circle of influence (friends, family, colleagues). To anyone else struggling with alcohol, or drugs, I say that once the influence you have on your circle becomes destructive to those around you, or if it already has become, then it is time to make a change and this is the perfect place to do it. -
Jacob - Depression (Ireland) - May 2016
When I first came to the residential rehab centre, my head and thoughts were up in the clouds for nearly 2 weeks and my anxiety was through the roof, but as the days went by, I started to come back into myself. It is so nice now to wake up and have a different perspective on things. All the staff have been marvellous, incredibly supportive and understanding. My dedicated therapist has been a fantastic rock for me, she just listens to what you have to say and guides you through it.
